Don’t expect it to replace your main earnings. But if you know a lot of people in the industry, it can bring in some extra money on top of what your page makes.

How the referral programme works

OnlyFans lets existing creators refer new creators to the platform. When someone signs up with your referral link and starts earning, you get a percentage of their earnings for a set period.

The terms are simple:

• You get 5% of the referred creator’s earnings.
• That lasts for the referred creator’s first 12 months.
• It’s capped at $50,000 for each creator you refer.
• The 5% comes out of OnlyFans’ share. The creator you refer keeps the same 80% they’d get without your link.

That last point matters. Using your link costs the new creator nothing. OnlyFans simply passes part of its platform fee to you as a thank you for bringing someone new onto the site.

Who can use the programme

You need to be an OnlyFans creator with a verified account. There’s no minimum number of subscribers or level of earnings. If your account’s verified and active, you can get a referral link.

The programme is for creators referring other creators. Referring fans or subscribers doesn’t count. It suits people who are already part of the creator community and regularly talk to others who might want to start.

Where to find your referral link

You’ll find your referral link in the referrals section of your OnlyFans account. It’s a normal web address with a tracking code on the end. When someone clicks it and signs up, the tracking happens automatically.

Keep your link somewhere easy to reach, like your phone’s notes or a bookmarks folder. When someone asks how to get started on OnlyFans, you’ll be able to send it straight away.

Realistic expectations about referral income

The 5% is based on the referred creator’s earnings on OnlyFans in their first 12 months. Once those 12 months are up, the payments stop and you earn nothing more from that creator. And however well they do, you can’t earn more than $50,000 from any one referral.

• If the creator you referred earns a modest amount in their first year, your 5% will be modest too.
• If they earn more, your share goes up with it.
• New creators often take a while to build an audience, and those slower early months fall inside your 12-month window.

This won’t make you rich quickly. It’s a small extra income stream, and unless you refer a lot of creators who do well, it’ll be a fraction of what your own page earns. That’s fine. Treat it as a bonus on top of your page.

Tips for maximising referral earnings ethically

The best way to use the referral programme is as part of helping people in the creator community. You can do that without being pushy or manipulative.

Help people who are genuinely interested

The best referrals come out of real conversations. If someone you know is thinking about starting on OnlyFans, answer their questions truthfully, share what you’ve learned, and offer your link if they decide to sign up.

Don’t try to talk round people who aren’t interested. Pressuring someone into making content isn’t fair on them, and someone who didn’t want to start is unlikely to stick at it.

Share your experience publicly

If you talk about being an OnlyFans creator on YouTube, TikTok, Twitter/X, a blog or a podcast, you can mention the referral programme and add your link. When you share your link, say what it is. Something like: “This is my referral link. OnlyFans pays me a small percentage if you sign up through it. It doesn’t cost you anything or change what you earn.”

Focus on quality over quantity

One creator who sticks with the platform and builds a successful page will earn you far more than ten who sign up, post twice and vanish. If someone asks whether OnlyFans is right for them, tell them what you really think, even if the answer is “maybe not right now.”

Tax implications

What happens after 12 months?

The referral payments stop. You don’t earn anything more from that creator once their first 12 months are over.

Is there a cap on what I can earn from one referral?

Yes. You can earn up to $50,000 from each creator you refer.

Can I refer someone who already has an OnlyFans account?

No. The programme only covers new accounts. If someone already has an account, your link won’t count as a referral.

Is there a limit on how many people I can refer?

OnlyFans doesn’t publish a limit on the number of referrals. You can refer as many new creators as you like and earn 5% from each one for their first 12 months, up to the cap for each.

Can I refer myself with a second account?
